Joel SartoreWeighing just five pounds, northern rockhopper penguins are one of the smallest species of crested penguins. But what they lack in size they make up for with big personalities. These birds are often observed slapping each other with their flippers and jabbing with open bills when competing for nesting sites, mating rights, and food. They are also quite vocal, using loud calls to share their location with mates and chicks, as well as to ward off any unwanted visitors. #rockhopper #penguin #bird #animal #wildlife #crest #video #reel #footage #PhotoArk
