IMJUSTBAITA woman has been ordered to remove a 4ft gorilla statue from the front of her house or face a £20,000 fine. The statue, named Caesar, has been owned by Adele Teale for more than 20 years. She previously had him outside her old home in Leeds for 15 years without any complaints, before reinstalling him outside her new house in Wakefield at the end of last year. Wakefield Council said the gorilla “wasn’t in keeping with the area” and breached planning rules because it had been mounted on a permanent platform attached to the house. Adele appealed the decision, arguing the statue “isn’t hurting anyone” and saying she didn’t understand why people complained about the gorilla while other properties had “mucky mattresses and fridges” in their gardens. But the Planning Inspectorate has now dismissed the appeal and ruled Caesar must be removed by 9 June or Adele could be taken to court. #imjustbait #fyp
