Iggy Miranda 🎀“My cat saved me.” It’s a line that might seem silly to most people, but to me, it’s something I hold close to my heart. Today is Ozzie’s 6th birthday, and to celebrate him, I’d like to share our story. Ozzie is my first cat. He was the last kitten in his litter to be sold, and his previous owner was desperate for me to take him because he was so sickly. I wasn’t even a cat person back then, but something pushed me to drive an hour just to see him. The moment I met Ozzie, he immediately jumped onto my lap, and that’s when I knew we were meant to be together. I got Ozzie during the peak of the pandemic, a time when I was in a very dark place in my life. Looking back, I realized I wasn’t just searching for a companion.I was searching for a reason to keep living. Ozzie became that reason 🩵 He made me want to get out of bed. He made me want to move so I could play with him. He would curl up next to me whenever my heart felt the heaviest. He would just be there and I would instantly feel better. I would talk to Ozzie about things I never had anyone else to talk to about. And even though I know he can’t speak, I know in my heart that he understands. He taught me how to be grateful and how to appreciate the little things in life like how fun it is to watch a bird fly by, or how a tiny piece of wrapper could bring so much joy. I am a better person because of Ozzie. I continue to live and breathe because of Ozzie and his siblings! Happy 6th birthday, Ozzie. My love, my greatest blessing, my sunshine ☀️🩵
