Girl With The DogsThis is Rosie, a 22-year-old cat. ❤️ I understand that seeing him in this condition is deeply upsetting. It was upsetting for me too, but I also think it’s important to remember that we don’t always know the full story behind how an animal ends up in this condition. The good news is that Rosie’s owner reached out for help, he received the grooming and veterinary care he desperately needed, and he is doing much better now. Whenever I share cases like this, I’m often asked why I don’t immediately report the owner to animal control. Aside from the fact that every situation has circumstances we may not be aware of, reporting a client can also put my own safety at risk. My clients know exactly where I live and work, and unfortunately, making a report isn’t always a safe option for me. My priority will always be the animal in front of me. Getting them the care they need, offering education and resources when I can, and doing everything within my power to improve their quality of life.
