FRYING PANA larper calling others larpers. Trickledown Larpenomics. I address this common misunderstanding about my previous startup PearAl. 3 concepts to understand: - VCs commonly invests in startup ideas that are immature. This is because they invest in the founders, not the idea. ~80% of startups pivot ideas. This is how you succeed, you have to constantly adapt and change given new information. - Forking is not copying. Most software is built on existing software. If you fork an open source codebase and keep it open source, that is perfectly legal and honest. Most actually fork them and keep them private, in which case you wouldn't even be able to see what we did. - I forgot to copy over the license, but this doesn't mean we "changed" the license. Our new codebase just had no license and anyone could've copied it forward (which is what we intended). This is a non-issue. We simply added the license over afterwards. Comment "DUKEBOT" if you want to actually learn about how Al and startups work. Have a nice day :) #ycombinator #b2b #startup
