But this is right in here California? 😳🥹 This is BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, the world’s first earthquake-proof Hindu temple and I could not believe that all of it was carved by hand! The architecture is so intricate and full of detail. Completed in 2012, this 20-acre complex came to life with the help of over 900 volunteers dedicating over a million hours. Rooted in Hinduism — this Mandir also embraces the future, using solar power to offset the carbon footprint which is super neat. Over 25 years, it’ll prevent the release of 1,500 tons of CO2 — the same as planting over 62,000 trees. Open to all and free to the public, you must remove your shoes before entering the temple and be sure to respect the faith by dressing appropriately. No professional camera gear is allowed. Btw, Hinduism isn’t only practiced in India, but people all around the world follow the religion.
