ESAWe've been getting the size of our own galaxy slightly wrong 📏 Our XMM-Newton and NASA's Chandra X-ray space telescopes have spotted the aftermath of three bright explosions, their light echoing through the outer spiral arms of the Milky Way. By measuring the distance to those echoes, they've found something surprising. The outer arms sit up to 10% further away than we thought. 📹 European Space Agency (ESA) #ESA #Space #MilkyWay
