Nail melanomas are sneaky. Unlike other melanomas, they’re not tied to UV exposure — they’re more genetically linked. They fall under acral lentiginous melanoma, and are the most common type of skin cancer in people with skin of color (yes, Bob Marley tragically passed from this). Watch for: -Bands wider than 3mm. -Skin changes around the cuticle (Hutchinson’s sign). Early detection can save lives. Don’t ignore new or changing streaks in your nails! it’s better to check than to miss something serious.
