ContikiIf you’ve ever been on the northbound Northern line platform at Embankment, you might’ve noticed its “Mind the Gap” announcement sounds a little different. The voice is actor Oswald Laurence. After he died in 2007, his wife Margaret would sometimes go to Embankment just to sit on the platform and hear his voice again 😭 When the announcement was replaced during a system update in 2012, she asked the workers if they could find her a copy. They did one better: they found the original recording, restored it and brought his voice back to Embankment (it still plays there today!) #contiki #loredrop #loredropthursday #mindthegap #londonunderground
