City Girls Who Walk NYCNew to NYC or just looking for your people? 🤍 Making friends in New York can feel overwhelming at first, but you’re not the only one showing up alone hoping to meet people. So many friendships in this community started with one person deciding to come to a walk solo, send the text first, or stay a little longer after an event. Here are a few things that have helped our girls build 100s of real friends in the city: 1. Say yes more. Go to the City Girls Who Walk event, the coffee meetup, the workout class, the Sunday walk. The more you put yourself in aligned spaces, the more likely you are to meet people who feel aligned too. 2. Become a familiar face somewhere. Your neighborhood coffee shop, local park, farmer’s market, or Pilates studio. Community is often built in the places we return to again and again. 3. Ask thoughtful questions. Ask what someone’s loving lately, what they’re reading, or what their perfect NYC day looks like. Those are the conversations people remember. 4. Share something honest about yourself. Saying “I’m trying to make more friends” or “I almost didn’t come today” might help someone else feel less alone too. 5. Follow the people who feel easy to be around. The girls who make you laugh, feel warm, and don’t make you overthink. 6. Keep showing up. Real friendship usually isn’t instant. It’s seeing familiar faces again and again until one day they’re part of your life. 7. Make the first move. Invite someone to grab coffee, send them the event link, or check in after meeting them. 8. Notice and compliment people. Small kindnesses make people feel seen. 9. Stay open. Sometimes your closest friends are the people you least expect. Spring in NYC is magical, it’s not meant to be experienced alone 🤍 come join our next city girls event to find your new besties waiting for you!!
