Christine ChangIt was an incredible experience to see active haenyeo (해녀), Jeju’s female deep sea divers today - I’ve always been inspired by these courageous women who braved the seas without diving equipment to feed their families and communities. Recently haenyeo was featured on the show ‘When Life Gives you Tangerines’ 🍊 but I’d recommend watching the documentary ‘The Last of the Sea Women’ for a more indepth look into their culture and history. The haenyeo performance takes place at 2pm daily @ Seongsan, Jeju Island #koreatravel #jejuisland #jeju #haenyeo #koreandrama #whenlifegivesyoutangerines
