Beyond OfficialThese Beyond Steak Puff Pastry Christmas Trees are everything!! Recipe below👇 — 📹: @Stephanie Engøy SERVES: 6 PREP TIME: 25 minutes COOK TIME: 20 minutes INGREDIENTS: 1 tbsp neutral oil 1/4 small white onion, chopped 1 garlic clove, minced 1/2 (10 oz) package of Beyond Steak 1 roma tomato, chopped 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning Salt and pepper, to taste 2 vegan puff pastry sheets 1/4 cup vegan pesto 3/4 cup vegan shredded mozzarella 1 tbsp vegan butter, melted 1/4 tsp dried parsley 6 vegan mozzarella cheese cutouts PREPARATION: 1. Heat 1 tbsp of neutral oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion & garlic, sauté for 3 minutes or until fragrant and translucent. 2. Add the Beyond Steak & cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until lightly browned. 3. Stir in tomato, Italian seasoning, salt & pepper to taste. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until tomatoes soften & the flavors combine. Remove filling from heat & let it cool slightly. 4. Pour the blended cheese sauce into a sauce pan and cook on medium heat, stirring frequently until it thickens. Add water into the sauce mixture as needed to get desired consistency. 5. Lightly flour a clean surface & roll out puff pastry sheets slightly to smooth the edges, then spread a thin, even layer of pesto over one puff pastry sheet. 6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly on top & spoon the cooled Beyond Steak filling evenly over the cheese, ensuring a thin layer to avoid overfilling. 7. Place the second puff pastry sheet on top & press all of the edges together to seal the layers. 8. Very gently roll out pastry sheets to smooth out the filling without letting any seep out. 9. Using a sharp knife, cut 6 1-inch strips of the layered puff pastry lengthwise. 10. Take one strip & fold it back & forth onto itself in decreasing lengths to form a triangle or "tree" shape. Start by making a long base fold, then slightly shorter folds as you layer upward to resemble the branches of a Christmas tree. Gently press the layers together at the folds to ensure the tree holds its shape during baking, then lay them flat on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. 11. Pierce a skewer from the bottom base of the tree through to the top of the tree, then repeat these steps with the remaining puff pastry strips, leaving space between each tree on the baking sheet. 12. In a small bowl, mix the melted vegan butter with the dried parsley, then brush the tops of each pastry generously with the butter mixture for a golden finish. 13. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the puff pastry is puffed and golden brown. 14. Remove pastries from oven & allow them to cool slightly, then skewer a star-shaped cheese at the top. 15. Serve warm on a serving platter and enjoy.
