Bethany | momma + art teacherThis week one of my students walked up to me holding a sticky note. On it, someone had drawn Jesus on the cross with the words “Do you know Jesus died for your sins?” He clearly hadn’t drawn it himself, it looked like something an older kid had made and maybe dropped. He didn’t say anything at all. He just handed it to me, almost shoved it in my space a little, waited for me to take it, and then turned and walked away like that was the whole job. And honestly, it stuck with me way longer than a tiny sticky note should. I kept thinking about why he felt the need to give it to me specifically. If he understood the message, or if he was just picking up something he found on the floor. Or maybe he just wanted to share something bigger than himself and didn’t know how to put it into words. It stopped me in my tracks. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. It felt like some sort of sign and it felt like it landed in my hands at the exact moment that I needed it. Just felt the need to share.
