BET NetworksBefore we close out the night, we're sending a little love to heaven for D'Angelo. One year without the man, but never a day without the music. This special performance marked his return to television after 12 years away and would ultimately become his final performance on the BET Awards stage, which is a moment in our history we'll cherish forever. His voice, his artistry and the soul he poured into every note left an imprint on music that time could never erase. Forever in our hearts. Forever in rotation. Rest in peace, D'Angelo.
