BarflyHad a hankering for some cheesy beans and toast. Buy the Heinz beans in the blue can if u can source it. Trust me. Bread can be simple to make. A good rule to start with is 5:3 flour to water ratio. I added a little fat which was the garlic olive oil. A bit of sugar and salt. Of course a packet of yeast too. For cheese, sharp cheddar is a great pair with the beans. Bread is typically baked in a hot oven so i knew i needed to crank the heat up on my hotplate. Thats why i packed bacon at the bottom of my cardboard bathroom tissue box. I figured the grease on the bottom would keep the cardboard from smoking and burning. Kinda like if you hang a paper lunchbag full with bacon and eggs over a campfire. I was right this time. No smoke or fire. Win!!! Plus i got cooked bacon out of it.
