Alisha KaurFor alopecia awareness month, I wanted to share the raw extent of my alopecia journey𩵠Building my social media and career around hair, to then losing half of it to alopecia, was honestly one of the hardest things Iāve dealt with. I was told there wasnāt much I could do and that having alopecia was simply ābad luckā, which was so hard to hear at such a difficult time. Steroid injections unfortunately didnāt work for me and actually made my patches worse. I started doing my own research and eventually found a clinic specialising in hair loss caused by alopecia. I started treatment at Este medical where I got exiplex light therapy with red light therapy, and after a few months, my patches started growing backš„¹ Alopecia is very unpredictable, so I now have this same treatment as maintenance and whenever I notice a new patch. Iām just unbelievably grateful to have my hair growing back and to finally feel like myself againšš¤ If youāre dealing with hair loss right now, please donāt lose hope. I know how upsetting and lonely it can feel trust me, but it can get better! Your hair doesnāt define your worth, your beauty or who you are, but I also know how much getting that growth back can meanš«¶š½ I hope this makes even one person feel a little less alone, weāve got this š©µš„° #alopeciaareata #hairloss #alopecia #hairtok #alopeciaawareness
