AlexiskristianaDownsized to 1,000 sq. ft., but somehow gained so much more… We’re coming up on almost one full year back in NYC, and one thing I find myself appreciating more and more is just how much life exists right outside our front door. The neighborhood cafés, familiar faces, local markets, parks, culture, community… just the simple joy of being able to step outside and feel connected to the world around us. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous about how our three kids would adjust to having less space, but I swear they didn’t even blink an eye. Their world didn’t get smaller. If anything, it got SO much bigger. And I think that’s something we don’t talk about enough when it comes to where we choose to live. Sometimes having less space inside means having so much more life outside. Getting to mother my children here, in a city that makes me feel alive again, has been one of the greatest gifts of this season.
